If you can't tell by the pained look on my face, yes, this did kick my butt. I set out with a goal today. I realized that it's time to start taking my fitness/training/health seriously again. And while I would have liked to ride my bike today, I didn't trust the weather too much. So I decided to kick it into gear on the treadmill. My previous record on the treadmill was something like 6 miles in a little over an hour. So I thought, if I'm able to do that and still be alive, why not go further? I went right for it and didn't work my way up to it. I just hopped on the treadmill, queued up two episodes of Breaking Bad on +Netflix and went to town.
Not only did I crush my previous record by almost 2 miles, but I crushed my calorie record by about 300 calories more. Not bad for just getting out there and going for it! My only hope is that I can keep this up and that I haven't burnt myself out after one day of extreme fitness!
